Kenn began his military career at 17 years old when he joined the United States Air Force. He served 4 years as a Russian linguist during the Nixon era with the U.S.A.F. Security Service and U.S. Intelligence Agencies. He then continued his service after receiving his Juris Doctorate and served our country in the U.S.A.F JAG corps and as a special assistant U.S. Attorney. While in this capacity, he served as prosecutor, administrative judge and mediator, as well as a labor union negotiator.
While in the service, Kenn was awarded the U.S. Air Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation. He has maintained 32 years of top secret/SCI clearance.
Kenn currently works in the private sector as an attorney. His private sector career in law includes 2 years as a Regional Counsel with the U.S. Navy (R&D Labs) and the Veterans Administration. He has spent the last 27 years with small and large international corporations as their Chief Legal and Ethics Officer and include: General Manager of 2 international subsidiaries, Government and classified products/services, Healthcare IT services, Import and export expertise. These corporations are of varying sizes from start-ups to over 165,000 employees and revenues up to 8 billion dollars.
Kenn is an entrepreneur and businessman in addition to his career in service to the United States and his legal profession. He has served as a California Pro Tem Superior court judge, an Adjunct professor of Law and a lecturer of various legal subject matters for 32 years and a legislative and foreign affairs advisor. Additionally, Kenn has been involved in many volunteer and community outreach activities, including as a volunteer mentor to 1st year law students at Elon School of Law and providing counseling assistance to youth at risk.
Kenn resides in Greensboro, NC with his wife Blair.
